Meet Amanda
Amanda Gautreaux
Counselor, MA · Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor · Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
I'm driven to work with individuals who come from hard places or who have experienced things no one ever should. These experiences fundamentally change who we are and I've become devoted to learning as much as I can to provide the best possible support using a variety of techniques. I've become certified in Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapies. I've had the privilege of studying in-person under some of the most influential researchers in the field of trauma, such as Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Stephen Porges, and Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk. I will continue on this quest for knowledge.
The combination of my studies and life experience leave me a seasoned and "familiar" clinician. Clients often say they feel comfortable and at ease with me very quickly. I'm dynamic in my approach and strive to help clients meet goals and see growth, but warm and relaxed. I truly believe laughter is the best medicine. We WILL laugh while you heal!
It would be my pleasure to talk with you about your journey and see if you feel if I'm a good match for you. I'm happy to work with couples or grouples, as well, who bring difficult relationship dynamics or attachment trauma into current partnerships and want to work through those obstacles. Please feel free to call or email any time. I'll respond!
Training & Approach
Rooted in Embodied Healing
The body holds what words alone can't reach. Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy is the foundation of this practice.
It shapes how I approach sex therapy, how I support neurodivergent clients navigating sensory and interoceptive experiences, and how I've built a trauma practice that has only deepened over time. My focus is complex and developmental trauma, the kind that begins in childhood and reorganizes a person from the inside out. Many of my clients are veterans and first responders; but not just because of what they faced on the job, but because of what they survived long before it.

Where I'm licensed to see you.
I offer telehealth sessions across multiple states, so geography doesn't have to be a barrier to care. In-person intensives and retreats are available at select locations.
